vicki & john’s wedding day at The carriage house, wilmington, de.
There are some couples that come and go in your career and it was a great day and your were happy to have served them for that time.
Then there are some couples, who’s eyes sparkle when they look at each other, the sun glows brighter, and when you leave the wedding day, you just wish you could stay only a little longer… This, was Vicki and John.
Something was special. Something was very different. Even though they were high school sweet hearts from Boothwyn, Pa and started dating at 14, the sparks never diminished. John proposed in August of 2021 at Rittenhouse Square, a park in Philadelphia. We took their engagement session at Valley Forge National Park (Link) in the middle of a very cold day in November, yet it felt warmer with them, and their photos gleamed with that same warmth.
Their wedding day will always stand out in my head. It was Effortless & Elegant. Having Vittoria for a bride was just like getting the brownie in the middle - she was so sweet, kindness radiated from her at every turn, and her smile was nothing short of Hollywood. Vittoria chose a jaw dropping classic dress from Mikaella Bridal who actually featured her wedding gown on their site here! The getting ready portion with the girls at The Carriage House were some of my favorite photos I’ve taken - the light the streamed in through the windows set the flawless tone for the perfect day. Outside, on 11/12/22, the weather blessed us for a rare 76 degree day and I didn’t hate it one bit.
One of the moments i’ll never forget that made me tear up, was while the girls were in their robes taking photos. Vicki asked for a photo of her and her mom. They smiled politely for the camera, but Vicki stopped and turned to her mother and quietly said, “I know we had our disagreements earlier, but I want you to know that I really love you, so much”. It clicked in my head just then like it clicked in my camera - taking the time to say those few words before the photograph, sets the memory in stone. And just like that, I knew that this was only the beginning of a stream of beautiful moments I would soon witness.
I would say more about this flawless day, yet I feel like it might take a novel. So I will end with the wonderful workers who helped pull this hallmark tale of a day into reality below:
